As anticipated, during a press conference this afternoon Governor Ducey announced his plan in regard to the stay-at-home order that expires tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, 2020. At the press conference, the Governor expressed that Arizona is going to have a gradual and phased in approach to return stronger.
The Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected order will stay in effect through May 15th with a few modifications. Those modifications can be found in the Returning Stronger executive order issued today (2020-33). These modifications include a partial reopening of retail stores on May 4th for drive-up and delivery options and then an expansion of that on May 8th for in-person retail options.
This does not impact entities covered in the executive order “Prohibiting the Closure of Essential Services” issued on March 23, 2020 (2020-12).
In addition, the Governor announced that hopefully there will be some dine-in options with our restaurants sometime in May.
